Monica Pierre is is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, radio personality, author and actor. She has more than 20 years of experience in radio and television news, and has served as host of various public affairs shows. In 2005, she was honored with the “Masters Award” by the Greater New Orleans Broadcasters Association.

Monica is the author of two personal growth books, Found My Soul in a Sweet Potato Patch: Living a Life of Victory and No Permanent Scars: It's Never to Late to Have the Life You Truly Want. Monica's third book, Someday is Right Now: Taking Action Today on the Life You've Been Putting Off was inspired by her coverage of Hurricane Katrina. Someday is Right Now, due to be released Fall 2006, will help people find the courage to pick up the pieces and take immediate action on their dreams.

Monica earned a B.A. in Radio/Television Communications from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana-Lafayette). She also served as an adjunct professor at Dillard University in New Orleans, teaching broadcast news writing and reporting.
